In another shocking incident, a Sikh man belonging to Indian
community was injured when a masked gunman opened fire at him in front
of his house in Washington after saying “Go back to your own country.”
This is the third shooting attack on Indian national within last 10
days in the United States (US), in which the victim was hit in the arm
but survived on Friday night attack.
The victim, who has not been identified by name but is believed to be
39-year-old Sikh, was working on his car in front of his house in Kent
city of Washington state when the gunman described as white, who had his
face partially covered, opened fire at him.
Kent city Police chief, Ken Thomas was quoted saying on Saturday
morning. “We’re early on in our investigation and we are treating this
as a very serious incident.”
According to local news channel, the incident was being investigated
as a possible hate crime and police had reached out to the Federal
Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for help.
On last Thursday, in recent spate of attacks, Harnish Patel of
Lancaster in South Carolina, was killed and Srinivas Kuchibhotla was
murdered on February 22 in Olathe, Kansas.
Same kind of incident was reported earlier when one more Indian, Alok Madasani got injured in the Olathe attack but he survived.
