Actor Dhanush’s timely action saved Rajinikanth’s daughter from police action after she met with an accident, when her car hit an auto rickshaw in Chennai on Tuesday.
Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya met with a minor accident on Tuesday after her car hit an auto rickshaw in Chennai’s Alwarpet area. As her car hit the auto rickshaw injuring the driver in the process, he threatened to file a police complaint.
However, a timely intervention by actor Dhanush, who is also Soundarya’s brother-in-law, saved the day for her. Before the situation could get out of control, Dhanush reached the spot and defused the situation. He offered monetary compensation and medical treatment to the driver.
The incident took place at 4:15 am in the morning as Soundarya was heading for her home in the Poes Garden of Chennai, where her dad Rajinikanth lives. As she was negotiating the turn into Mowbrays Road to reach Poes Garden, she lost control of her car and hit the auto, reports The Asian Age. The loud noise work up the other auto rickshaws parked in the area.
She informed her family soon after but did not abandon the scene and stayed put till Dhanush reached to the spot.
An autorickshaw driver Chandrasekar said Soundarya stopped the car soon after the accident.
“She offered monetary assistance of Rs 10,000 and we refused it. We were also worried about her safety. We asked her to go home. Dhanush came and got the injured autorickshaw driver admitted to hospital and assured that he would follow it up,” the driver said.
Soundarya is currently busy directing VIP 2, a sequel to the 2014 Tamil comedy VIP, starring Dhanush, Kajol, Amala Paul and Samuthirakani in important roles.
