15-year-old girl gangraped live on Facebook, relocated: Report

A 15-year-old girl whose gangrape was streamed live on Facebook has been relocated to a safer place along with her family. The step was taken by the concerned authorities after they started receiving threats and were harassed, reported a leading daily.

Last week, five to six men allegedly gangraped a teenager. The most horrifying part of the whole incident was that out of 40 people who watched the live video did not call the police.

According to media reports, the ordeal came into light when the victim's mother approached the head of Chicago Police and registered a "missing" report.

The woman also showed to the Chicago Police head the screen shots of the video of the assault.
After much investigation , the girl was found by Ogden District police officers and reunited with her mother, said Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.

The victim's mother has said that since the incident, people have issued threat to them on Facebook saying, "they are going to get her" daughter and neighbours too have been laughing about the incident and ringing the family's doorbell looking for the girl, reported an international news agency.

After the complaint, Guglielmi said the police have also "directed special attention" to the family's home.
