Following last year's success, Google India brings back the Great
Online Shopping Festival to India. The three-day online festival will
kick off on 10 December and will conclude on 12 December.
Quite similar to US's Black Friday sales where e-retailers and
consumer retailers offer huge discounts and offer the Great Online
Shopping Festival (GOSF) too will offer huge deals to Indian buyers on
the above mentioned dates.
In the official site, Google mentioned there were some technical
errors on last year's first day sale and the host was not able to handle
the huge amount of traffic, causing the site to be down for almost 36
hours. GOSF therefore decided to extend the carnival date by a couple of
days. And the overall sale was spectacular. Google expects the traffic
will be much higher than the previous year and to satisfy the customers,
Google is eyeing to partner with 300 online retailers including
Flipkart, Myntra, Amazon, Snapdeal, Lenskart, HomeShop 18 and Indiatimes
to name a few.
Google has announced a pre-party for the festival on 25 November and
is expected to launch the the official website GOSF on that very day.
Google has opted for a more aggressive approach this year and decided
to promote the festival through advertisements on different mediums
including print and TV to extend the reach further.
Customers will get great discounts and several other concessions
on household products, clothes, fashion accessories, eyewear, consumer
electronic goods, jewellery and gadgets.
Significantly Flipkart and Amazon both experienced huge success in their festival which took place last month.
